Aldermore and former England footballer Mark Hateley have teamed up to support Headway’s annual charity football tournament for the sixth consecutive year.
The five-a-side tournament raised £15,000 for Headway – the brain injury association, a charity that supports brain injury survivors. In total, 21 teams competed, including, five Aldermore and MotoNovo Finance teams. The winning side, Portman Asset Finance Ltd took home the Adam Massen Cup, named in memory of Adam Massen, a member of Aldermore’s asset finance team who tragically died from a brain injury in 2014.
Held on Wednesday 17 May, the tournament took place at St George’s Park in Burton–on-Trent, the home of England’s national football teams and also the Football Association’s National Football Centre.
Mark Hateley made 32 appearances for the England national team from 1984 to 1992, scoring nine goals. He was a member of the squads for the 1986 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 1988.
Lee Rhodes, commercial director of asset finance at Aldermore, said “It’s great to see so many members of the industry playing their part for such a good cause. Headway has done some fantastic work supporting brain injury victims over the last forty-three years and their cause is one that we are particularly close to.”
