Opening an account and paying money in

You can make deposits by Faster Payments, BACS, CHAPS or Standing Order from your nominated account. You can also make deposits by transfer from an existing Aldermore Personal Savings account in your name or held jointly with someone else (where withdrawals are permitted), or, for ISAs, by transfer from another ISA provider. Payments to us from any other account will not be accepted and will be returned. We don’t accept deposits by cash, cheque or banker’s draft.

Please don’t send any money until we’ve confirmed that your account is open, as we won’t be able to allocate it to your account and it will be returned.

When your account is open, you can add money to a Regular Savings Account, Easy Access Account, Double Access Account, Notice Account or Notice Cash ISA at any time. For Fixed Rate Accounts and Fixed Rate Cash ISAs, you have 14 calendar days from account opening to make as many deposits as you like. After this period no further deposits are permitted.

We’re not a clearing bank. So, when you pay in a deposit, it goes to our Barclays account first, then into your Aldermore account. It can take up to two business days to show on your account. But we pay you interest from the business day we get your payment.

Please make sure to include the following information when setting up a new payment:

  • Your Full Name: (first name and last name)
  • Our Account Number: 63684431
  • Our Sort Code: 20-19-90 (this may show as Barclays, we partner with them as our clearing bank)
  • Reference: (Your seven-digit account number or your application reference number)

When you opened your account online, you received an application reference number and later an account number. You can use either of these as your payment reference.

As we join the Confirmation of Payee Scheme, other banks and building societies who also participate in the scheme will have 7 days to register with us.

Whilst we wait for other banks and building societies to register, you may get a message about your details not matching. If this happens, please use the below information.

Between 22 – 29 October:

  • Our Account Number: 63684431
  • Sort Code: 20-19-90 (This may appear as Barclays, as we partner with them)
  • Beneficiary Name: Aldermore Bank PLC
  • Payment Reference: Your Application Reference Number or your Account Number followed by the first three letters of your surname.

When you opened your account online, you received an application reference number and later an account number. You can use either of these as your payment reference.

Please make sure that you correctly quote the beneficiary's name and reference when you make a payment.

We won't be able to pay the money into your account and we'll have to return it to you without interest. Make sure you double-check the payment details before you press send.

You can add money to a Regular Savings Account, Easy Access Account, Double Access Account, Notice Account or Notice Cash ISA at any time. The Regular Saver Account will have a maximum monthly deposit and you can see this in your product summary box.

If you have an existing Easy Access Help to Buy: ISA, you can also add money at any time, up to a maximum total monthly amount of £200.

Funds deposited by Faster Payments, BACS, CHAPS, standing order or by transfer from another account with us will start earning interest from the business day on which we receive them but may take up to two business days to show on the account.
